@midwestdoomcoalition presents @theywatchusfromthemoon all the way from Lawrence Kansas with local support from @grimreeferband @lungsplitterband and @levitatinggiant. Bear witness as these four bands take over the @ashbary_coffeehouse stage on Saturday March 14th in hopes of taking flight in search of what is beyond.
They Watch Us From The Moon (@theywatchusfromthemoon) – The heavy psychedelic, stoner doom hexad from the far reaches of the ozark plateau embark on a sonic journey through cosmic weed smoke and celestial bodies to gift Chicagoland the heaviest riffs since human life touched down on the moon. Lungsplitter (@lungsplitterband) – ALL HAIL IN HALE as this sludge metal trio distorts your psyche and shakes the lung butter from your chests. Bass forward stoner doom riffs, blackened highs and guttural lows, and always one bong rip ahead of you.
Grim Reefer (@grimreeferband) – The brain child of everyones favorite south side riffer and the most disgusting 4 piece doom metal band in the city. Grim Reefer is exactly what it sounds like – weed and death. Once the distorted sound waves tickle your ears you have made a deal with the devil and will soon be harboring a forsaken soul.
Levitating Giant (@levitatinggiant) – Aggressive, crushing, relentless. This trio hailing from Kankakee County creates moments of melodic atmosphere just to turn around and shove thick drowning unescapable chaos in your face. Powerfully smooth drums, never ending distortion, and thick bass tones all laid underneath earth shattering screams.
