We are excited to introduce to you the first ever Distress Fest: a celebration of noise rock and experimental, weird, and heavy music from Chicago, the Midwest, and beyond at Subterranean on June 27 & 28. Distress Fest is for bands and people who have been alienated and outcast to bond and find community through heavy music. Our festival is a charity event; through ticket sales and raffle donations we are aiming to raise $10,000 for Midwest Immigration Bond Fund to help immigrants affected by the violence of ICE in Chicago, Minneapolis, and throughout the Midwest.

Headlining the first edition of the festival is Chicago’s own @bongripperdoom, along with San Diego’s @deafclubband, featuring Justin Pearson of The Locust. They will be joined by Los Angeles’s @ainweofficial (making their first ever appearance in Chicago), New Orleans sludge band @slowhole, and 22 other bands showcasing the golden age of noisy music in the Midwest.
