Although they claim to be entirely human, Pleasantries’s music is at times as dark as Satan or as lovely as a chorus of angels. Animated videos, boundless guitar shredding, and an effortless fusion of indie rock, symphonic instrumentals, and synthwave grooves meet influences like Jack Stauber, Bill Wurtz and Tally Hall. Also, the bandleader Andy Markantonatos would like you to know he won the Palatine Shredfest when he was 8 years old and it’s still (sadly) his proudest achievement. Read less
