Employing a lethal blend of classic thrash, punk, and NWOBHM, the aptly named heavy metal supergroup Category 7 delivers a hurricane-level rock & roll experience. Comprised of Armored Saint and ex-Anthrax frontman John Bush, former Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel, Adrenaline Mob guitarist Mike Orlando, Exodus bassist Jack Gibson, and Overkilland Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner, the band formed in 2023 and inked a deal with Metal Blade the following year. Wasting no time, Category 7 released a pair of singles, “In Stitches” and “Mustang,” in early 2024, which appeared on their eponymous debut album later that year.
