IKARAY
IKARAY is a four piece ambient doom project based in Chicago. When it comes to expressing and evoking the feelings of anxiety, acknowledgement of misery, and calls to action- they’re pros. With tracks like “Obelisk” that strike immediately like a match that continues to lull in and out of rage and understanding, IKARAY manages to weave a web through their music unlike any other.
The Lion’s Daughter
THE LION’S DAUGHTER was formed in 2007 by guitarist/vocalist Rick Giordano, drummer Erik Ramsier, and bassist Scott Fogelbach. The band was originally conceivedout of a hatred for the insincere and uninspired fodder choking the mainstream metal scene. They take notes from a myriad of metal’s extremes, but live by no musical limitations and are driven to please no audience but themselves.
Since their inception, THE LION’S DAUGHTER have built a reputation as a formidable live force, sharing the stage with High On Fire, Pig Destroyer, EYEHATEGOD, Torche, Misery Index, Nachtmystium, Dark Funeral, and more.
Varaha
VARAHA play a dynamic brand of dark and somber doom/dark rock inspired metal. The band’s palette is wide and varies from monolithic, heavily distorted guitars to elegiac and nostalgic arrangements. Their music is a cinematic dance between heavy riffing counterpointed by omnipresent melodies, as well as droned parts of despair, and evocative clean guitar arrangements.
