Odonis Odonis
Toronto-based “Industrial surf-gaze” monsters ODONIS ODONIS are returning after their last show in April when they opened for Canadian post-punk hunks PREOCCUPATIONS at Bridgeport’s Co_Prosperity Sphere. Born out the same DIY scene that spawned METZ, HSY, GREYS and more, this trio cut their teeth at the now defunct Buzz Garage, where they built a solid foundation as a crushing live band. Their 2014 Polaris-nominated album, Hard Boiled Soft Boiled, found ODONIS ODONIS pushing the sonic envelope into new territory, because much like the hypnotic spiral that came to be associated with the band’s earlier efforts, these fellas don’t follow a linear path. The band’s live show is the point where the diverging influences and hypnotic visual aesthetic collide into something that is maddeningly stunning — don’t miss it.

GRÜN WASSER
GRÜN WASSER is inspired by the juxtaposition of beauty and tragedy in the world. Keely Dowd and Essej Pollock formed GRÜN WASSER in Chicago, USA in 2015. Together, they combine influences to create music that explores expression through the feelings and colors of specific moments. The nearly apocalyptic social conditions throughout the world can be heard in the pounding bass rhythms and dynamic, anguished vocals. GRÜN WASSER stands in solidarity with all people who have been disenfranchised by the negligent powers of society.

Anatomy of Habit
Chicago’s own ANATOMY OF HABIT will be opening tonight’s show, shoving even more harsh noise down your tinnitus-ridden earholes. Anatomy of Habit formed in Chicago in October 2008 and is now composed of Alex Latus (Guitar), Isidro Reyes (Percussion), Skyler Rowe (Drums), Mark Solotroff (Vocals), and Sam Wagster (Bass).Their 2014 Relapse debut, Ciphers + Axioms, is an intensely terrifying, tranced-out post-metal noise-rock masterpiece. Fronted by noise icon Solotoroff’s baritone vocal poetics, ANATOMY OF HABIT trudges through two twenty-plus minute epics of tensely monolithic walls of guitar and percussion, staking their claim amongst SWANS and NEUROSIS as being one of the most unique and truly gifted post-metal heavy bands of our time.
