Boatman’s Toll

Boatman’s Toll is a metal band from the south side of Chicago! Take a ton of different influences, throw them in the blender, and see what comes out!

Cold Black River

Cold Black River formed in 2013 by sons of Helliphant (www.helliphant.com) Jeremy Roseland (guitar/vocals) and Eric Cobb (bass/lead vocals). After penning tunes for several months and collaborating with a shortlist of talented drummers, CBR finally settled on southern Wisconsin native Aaron Kanitz to complete the powerful three piece.
Boasting influences from Alice in Chains and Kyuss to Sabbath and Tom Waits, this trio know how to command the stage. CBR submerge the audience in a mix of heavy riffs, well crafted hooks and dynamic vocals.
Their new album, “Tales of Death & The Devil”, introduces their fresh take on deconstructed stoner anthems, straight-forward rock, with a special blend of bluesy doom drizzled on top. From their stomper “Keep Rollin’” to the groove infused “Oh My Goddess,” CBR embrace the legacy of heavy Southern rock with an undercurrent of gritty soul, and they don’t mind culling sounds from all over the sonic map.

Faces of the Bog

“For their debut album Ego Death, Chicago’s Faces of the Bog really don’t play it safe. This sludgy offering is littered with mystical and shamanistic psychedelic vibes. However, it also seems like they dig a fair amount of grunge, and really draw inspiration from all across the doom scene. Ego Death is a very expansive album and while drawing from enough streams to fill an ocean, never comes off as pretentious or forced. This is an incredibly strong start for the young band, and one can only wonder what avenues they will cross in the future.”

Deepspacepilots

Blending a unique style of, psychedelic rock, doom, ambient, and shoegaze, DeepSpacePilots is a three piece heavy rock band that has been playing around Chicago since 2006.

Current line-up: Guitar/vocals: Ron Strojny; Drums: Bill Shanklin; Bass: Andre Almaraz.

Their latest release “Point of No Return” was recorded with John Bohmer of I Klatus/Indian at Horse Drawn Productions in Berwyn, IL and released in 2016. The LP consists of fifteen tracks and runs approximately 78-minutes.

The band has shared the stage with Truck Fighters, Malfunkshun, Elder, Naam, Trouble, Bongripper, Ape Machine, Black Pussy, Chiefs, Pilgrim, Spirit Caravan, and, Mothership, among others.

Their live shows can achieve ear-bleeding volumes.
