New local doom trio REZN are returning to headline tonight after celebrating a record release for their debut Let It Burn back in February. We’ve seen em a few times and they’ve consistently blown us away, whether it was that gig or opening for GOBLIN COCK last October. We couldn’t wait to have em back so they could tear us to pieces once again.

Formed in Toronto, Canada during the spring of 2010, BIBLICAL is the roar of mountains splitting and oceans parting. This year sees them releasing their sophomore full-length The City That Always Sleeps, via Tee Pee Records. The product of almost two years in the studio, the album is a deep dive into sludgy psych rock that explores spaces, textures and tones beyond the outer limits. Heavy, propulsive and totally hypnotic, it’s BIBLICAL at its weapons-grade best, leveraging rhythm and dynamics to explosive effect.

Opening this evening is trio MARMORA, sporting a sound more in line with the depths of a murky swamp than their Chicago brethren. The quartet turning heads as well as banging them with dirty, howling guitars, crushing bass, and commanding drums that recall the stoner rock of yesteryear, while layering on chaotic solos with an undeniable energy. A tight-knit family affair that was started by brothers Alex, Ulysses, and Zaid Salazar, band recruited longtime friend Allan Cardenas (formerly of Why Intercept?) in 2015 to take on lead vocals, keys, and rhythm guitar. With two decades of musical experience under their belt, Marmora unleashes heavy, soulful rock that pays homage to their punk rock past.
