Big Brew Day Information:
May 4, 2019 – Celebrate National Homebrew Day
In 1988, May 7 was announced before Congress as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. AHA Big Brew is held each year on the first Saturday in May.
Here are the details:
-We will be giving out FREE wort, 100% FREE!!!
-There are 12 tickets available for each a 6 gallon & 12 gallon batches
-Wort pickup will begin at 11:30am on May 4th
-Please arrive on time with a clean & sanitized carboy/brew bucket or your favorite fermentation vessel (we won’t be cleaning/sanitizing vessels on-site)
-We will be mashing/sparging and transferring the wort to our kettle where we will boil it long enough to pasteurize it then chill it down and transfer to your vessels
-Take your portion home to continue the Big Brew Day in any way you want using any hops, adjuncts & yeast you choose!
We will have a follow-up event on May 25th where we encourage everyone to bring in their finished product. We will share them with each other and the community and let the people vote on who’s is best. Prizes will be awarded! (More details to follow on the follow-up event)
